Melton Lodge Montessori School is located on the Yarmouth Road in Melton, just outside Woodbridge and operates alongside Melton Day Nursery (which offers care for children aged 0-5 years from 8am until 6pm.)

Melton Lodge Montessori School was established in 1988 and is open from 8.45 am until 3pm each day for 38 weeks of the year. It is also a recognised Montessori Teacher Training centre licensed by Montessori Centre International in London.

All the teachers are Montessori trained and experienced.  They are police checked. Each member of staff has a current emergency first aid certificate and continually updates their training and professional development. The school operates with a minimum ratio of one teacher to every six children, although normally there is a ratio of one teacher to every 3 or 4 children.

We believe that every child is unique and their happiness, self-confidence and independence are essential to the whole learning process. We aim to provide individual attention and equal opportunities for every child who attends the school. Children between the ages of two and a half and five years of age are accepted on a first come first served basis. We offer a flexible choice of morning sessions, extended morning sessions and full days. Extra hours outside our school sessions can be taken with by separate arrangement with Nicola Cannon in the Day Nursery if required. (Tel: 01394 388995)

We have prepared a relaxed, loving and well organised stimulating environment to promote intrinsic motivation, sensorial expression and provision for the opportunity for every child to reach his/her maximum potential. Individual learning plans are in place for each child and discreet records with detailed objective observations are kept to monitor their progress and development.

The school is registered with the Local Education Authority and is regularly inspected by the education governing body, Ofsted. You can view our latest Ofsted report here: Ofsted report
